Plot

The film opens with a group of six American submariners being briefed on their mission. They are to travel to the North Atlantic and destroy a German U-boat that has been sinking Allied ships. The submariners are led by Commander Paul Stevenson (Alan Ladd),who is a veteran of World War I.
